The new children’s center is more than just
a day-care. The center has exercise activities
appropriate to children of all ages in
the In Shape Kid’s Clubs, which focuses
upon children from six months to age 12.
The center features a miniature rock-climbing
wall, basketball court, homework
stations, and media centers.
State-of-the-art technology is employed
throughout the facility in such things as
simulated road courses in which members
can ride “virtual bikes” that are linked
together in the same database so four
people can ride together through the
computer-generated simulated terrain.
Plus, they can climb hills, ride with virtual
bicyclists that appear on the screen, or engage
in races with computer-generated opponents.
From the members’ scanned ID cards the
computer can upload health information and
track progress.
Plus, the new Antioch facility had something
that interested me — a circuit training
work-out area in which members cycle
through a set of machines responding to a
light, working out for a few minutes on each
machine as part of a choreographed program
that exercises every set of muscles in a 29minute
routine.
I always wondered why only women could
have that kind of disciplined focused workout
session at Curves and now In Shape is
making it available for everyone.
MEET CLUB ONE’S MIKE DAVIS
Mike Davis lived and worked in Erie,
Pennsylvania and is glad to be in sunny
California.
“I wanted to walk across the country
with a snow-shovel over my shoulder,” he
said, “until I met someone who asked me
‘What’s that?’”
Davis is now the General Manager of Club
One at Brentwood and happy to be part of
the community.
“My wife adores Brentwood,” Mike said.
“We were here for 4.5 months last year and
found the people friendly and nice.”
Now that the addition of the third building
will be completed by the start of the
new year, Mike along with the Brentwood
team are eager to better serve the community’s
fitness and wellness goals.
From the beginning, Club One at Brent -
wood sought to embody the its purpose to
“deliver quality fitness and wellness solutions
that support meaningful change in
people’s lives.”
